On January 17th, Bala Cynwyd Middle School will be hosting their annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. Each grade selected an organization and the 8th grade class chose Lucy Belle's Rainbow. There are plenty of amazing organizations taking part in the annual MLK Day of Service, so please consider all of the organizations! If you decide to donate to Lucy Belle's Rainbow, we will be accepting donations both to the middle school and from our Amazon Wishlist. The Joy of Sox (Grade Six) The Joy of Sox began in Philadelphia, but it now aims to provide new socks to every homeless person in the U.S. every year. Angels In Motion (Grade Seven) Angels in Motion delivers “blessings bags” of snacks and information resources to the homeless population in Philadelphia on a weekly basis. AIM also holds bi-monthly meetings for the community to spread awareness about the disease of addiction and offers support to families, friends, and loved ones that have been affected by this disease. With the donations, students will sort donations, pack blessing bags, make encouragement notes, and prepare plastic bags to be up-cycled for sleeping mats.
