Come see some great basketball and help a good cause! Lucy was very clear - she said no running, ever but she never said anything about basketball. And her brother is pretty darn good if I don't say so myself. More info to come! - Vashni Nilon, mother of Lucy Belle The Interschool Council of LMSD is presenting the ISC Art Show at the Main Line Art Center (see events page for address details). This event would not be possible without Georgine Heibeck at BCMS as well as our sponsor, School Specialty Supplies. School Specialty donated 200 sketchbooks and watercolor kits. Also a big thank you to all the students, families, faculty and administration student at BCMS. We cannot do this without you!
Local heroes took center stage at a very special Phillies Charities, Inc. Holiday Giving Party. The event saluted dozens of local charities and organizations making an impact in the community, and also recognized those who were selected to receive a 2017 Phillies Charities, Inc. grant. This past year alone, over $1.2 million was awarded by Phillies Charities, Inc. to charitable organizations in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and in the communities of the Phillies spring training and minor league affiliates. Among those attending the event included Phillies’ Manager Gabe Kapler, General Manager Matt Klentak, President Andy MacPhail, Chairman David Montgomery, Chairman Emeritus Bill Giles, Managing Partner John Middleton, Partner Jim Buck, former President & Senior Advisor Pat Gillick, Senior Advisor to the General Manager Larry Bowa, and Phillies Charities, Inc. President John Weber. Also taking part were broadcasters Tom McCarthyand Gregg Murphy, as well as Phillies Director of Public Affairs Scott Palmer, the Phillies Ballgirls and many more front office members. Lucy Belle’s Rainbow was thrilled to be chosen as a 2017 grant recipient. Also thrilled to mingle with the Phillies front office (Larry Bowa!) and some amazing charities. We were truly humbled to be among such great company. The Phillies rolled out the red carpet, The Philly Phanatic and a jazz band. Lucy’s mom and grandfather were in attendance. Bev Rusoff and Christine Cavalier-Purpura created some amazing centerpieces for the event. Thank you, Phillies, for this amazing opportunity. Lucy Belle's Rainbow had an amazing morning helping Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation in the 2017 Lemon Walk. We especially love and appreciate the photo of Lucy in the hero’s alley during the final stretch of the walk. Thank you to everyone who braved the cold and ran/walked for a cure!
We are proud to announce that Lucy Belle's Rainbow has received a $10,000 dollar grant from the Philadelphia Phillies! We are so grateful and thank for helping us on our mission to create for a cure!
